City of Brookhaven to Join ChatComm

The City of Brookhaven, GA, (pop. 49,000) voted 4 to 1 on March 25, 2014 to move their 9-1-1 call taking and dispatch operations to ChatComm from Dekalb County. In doing so they will join the cities of Sandy Springs, Johns Creek and Dunwoody in the Chattahoochee River 911 Authority (ChatComm).

ChatComm, the first public/private partnership of its kind in the country, is operated under a multi-year contract by IXP Corporation. It is expected that th26e inclusion of the City of Brookhaven will result in an additional 8 fulltime positions at ChatComm.
